First, God is not mad at you. He loves you with a deep and everlasting love and nothing will ever change that. He knows you. He is waiting for you to know Him, and all you have to do is ask.
Maybe you’ve never called on the name of Jesus, but it’s so simple. Religion makes it hard, but all you have to do is ask Him to help you. He’s waiting for you.
All the guilt, shame, doubt, regret, hoplessness, lack of purpose, fear – whatever your struggles – you know you can’t fix yourself. You’ve already tried. You need God.
And it’s no accident you are on this site, reading this. The Spirit of God is trying to reach you with His goodness, His love, His peace, His blessings, His direction.
There is nothing like knowing God. Joy, Peace, Hope, Forgiveness, Purpose, Freedom! Let Him into your life. Just try it, and see what happens.
And it’s not these words that are touching your heart right now with hope. On the inside, the Holy Spirit is calling you, wanting you to know the love God has for you. He wants you to know His love, and hear His voice.
If this is you, and this is how you feel, then pray this prayer:
“Father, you said you in your Bible that if I call on the name of Jesus, you would receive me, make me one of your own, and forgive me of all I have done wrong.
Cleanse me and fill me with your Holy Spirit. I need You. I want You in my life. I say yes today.
Now, let it be recorded in heaven that on this day I called on Your name, and I said yes to You.
And let every promise in Your word be done to me as You’ve said. In Jesus’ name. Amen!”
If you prayed this prayer today, your next steps are:
- Send me a message telling me about your decision today. It’s a joyful day and it needs to be shared! The Bible says the Angels in heaven rejoice when one person makes a decision to ask Jesus into their life. (Luke 15:10)
- Get a Bible, and start reading about who God is, how much He loves you, and His promises to you. I suggest starting with the New International Version (NIV).
- Find a church. It’s important to be connected to people who share your faith. We all need encouragement, and we need people! It helps us grow, and provides support.
- Until you find a place (and even after), I encourage you to listen to Gary Keesee at Faith Life Church online at faithlifechurch.org. You can also watch on Facebook Live at Faith Life Church (Ohio). Their weekly messages are live streamed on Sunday mornings, and you can watch previously recorded messages as well. I watch every Sunday morning too.
